When stairs are something of an issue, and your hose is on one level, and your plants are on another, by far the easiest way to water them with with a spray nozzle set to fine. They get a good soaking without damage. Plus the window and walkway get cleaned, too. You get a maximum result for minimum effort. It works for me.
